New Audi S8 will arrive in Russia next year

The "charged" sedan Audi S8 of the new generation will enter the Russian market next year. The model will be offered with a V8 biturbo engine, supplemented by a belt-driven starter-generator powered by a 48-volt network. Unlike the S6 and S7, which switched to diesel engines, the S8 retained the gasoline unit. "Eight" produces 571 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque and is capable of accelerating a large sedan up to 250 kilometers per hour. The model is also equipped with an eight-band "automatic" and all-wheel drive quattro transmission.
In addition, the base S8 has a "predictive" adaptive air suspension with individual electromechanical drives for each wheel, steering the rear wheels and an active rear differential. Visually, the car differs from the usual A8 by nameplates with the letter S, modified bumpers and round exhaust pipes. Prices in Russia have not yet been announced. The approximate price in Germany is 120 thousand euros or 8.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate. The most powerful A8 - 60 TFSI with a 4.0 V8 biturbo engine (460 forces and 660 Nm of torque) - will cost 7,860,000 rubles.

Audi RS7 turned into the world's fastest armored car

The American company AddArmor and the APR tuning studio have developed an armored version of the "charged" Audi RS7 hatchback. The creators of the car claim that the novelty has become "the world's fastest bulletproof car" - the maximum speed was 325 km per hour. AddArmor has added polycarbonate panels to the hatchback, which are "ten times stronger than standard steel armor, but about 60% lighter." Conventional windows were replaced with special bulletproof laminated glass interspersed with polymer materials. The total weight of the armor was just over 90 kg, but at the same time it complies with the European B4 standard.
This means that it is able to protect the driver and passengers from small arms fire, including high-power .44 Magnum caliber. The equipment includes a pepper gas spray function, a smoke screen installation system, a "sound cannon" and run-flat tires. In addition, stun guns on door handles and blinding light elements are designed to protect from attack. Tuners from APR, in turn, upgraded the four-liter V8 gasoline engine with two turbines, which increased the output to 771 hp. from. and 1085 Nm of torque. The armored Audi RS7 is capable of accelerating to the first hundred in 2.9 seconds, and its maximum speed was 325 km per hour.

Bentley Continental: "charged" coupe is ready to race

If you thought that Bentley models were only for leisurely driving in luxurious conditions, then we hasten to sadden you with some interesting news. The Bentley engineers decided to take part in the International GT and Blancpain races, preparing a new modification of the Bentley Continental for the track.

Under the hood of the rear-wheel drive Continental GT3, instead of the standard W12, there is a lightweight V8 with two turbines. The four-liter engine produces 550 horsepower and is equipped with an upgraded intake and exhaust system.
Officially, sales of the racing Bentley Continental will start in the summer of 2018. Recall that the new generation Continental GT, which debuted in the fall, is built on the same platform as the Porsche Panamera. The coupe in an aluminum body is equipped with a 635-horsepower W12, generating 900 Nm of thrust. Acceleration to hundreds of "Continental" takes 3.7 seconds at a maximum speed of 333 km / h.

Bentley unveils world's fastest SUV

Bentley has unveiled a "charged" version of its Bentayga crossover, called Speed. The public debut of the novelty, which the company calls "the fastest SUV in the world", will take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The car received a modernized six-liter W12 gasoline engine with two turbines, the output of which has increased from the current 608 hp. from. up to 636 horsepower.

A reconfigured electronic control unit was used in the power unit. The engine is paired with an improved eight-speed "automatic". Top speed - 306 km / h, which is 1 km / h faster than the Lamborghini Urus, which is equipped with a four-liter twin-turbo V8, developing 650 hp. from. The novelty accelerates from zero to "hundreds" in 3.9 seconds. In the standard version of the Bentayga, this figure is 4.1 seconds.

Bentley mated with Porsche for an electric car

Stefan Silaff, chief designer of Bentley, in an interview with AutoExpress, mentioned the appearance of a new electric car in the brand's lineup. The first representative of the "green gamut" will be a four-door premium sports car built on the basis of the Porsche Mission E platform. However, the timing of the appearance of the product of the symbiosis of "Porsche" and "Bentley" has not yet been named.
According to the designer, the new electric Bentley will be a unique vehicle with a distinctive interior and exterior, advanced technology and different proportions. “In fact, it will be a five or four-seater sports car with a small trunk,” added Stefan Silaff.

It is assumed that the sports electric car will be named after the racing driver from Great Britain Wolfe Barnato. The four-door Bentley Barnato will be the company's first electric car. Previously, there was information about the production roadster in the EXP 12 Speed style, presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
